This artwork was a commission for a friend who wanted to give her son a more meaningful birthday gift.
They have a very ‘free range’ Central Bearded Dragon Lizard as a pet. Gus cruises around the home and occasionally even goes along on basic errands with them!
After being introduced to Gus and seeing him up close and personal, I knew I definitely had my work cut out for me! Those little spikes!!
I don’t mind a little detail, but this was a whole new level.
I really wanted to do justice to his beautiful colour and make sure he had his unique little markings too.
Would I do another lizard?…maybe not. But it was good to have the challenge.
Gus may soon be available as a Greeting Card. Stay tuned….
